Since tomorrow is Pancake Day (the BBC Food website has a nice little history of Pancake Day here), after the jump are links to a few recipes. One is Delia Smith’s always spot-on recipe, and there are a couple of others I’ll probably be trying, plus links to some websites with loads more recipes.

Delia Smith’s classic pancake recipe - if you want a foolproof, works every time (well, apart from the first one which I for some reason always have to throw out) recipe, then Delia Smith is the woman to trust. This is the standard pancake recipe I’ve always made and you really can’t go wrong with it. You also get to spend more time thinking about the toppings for it!

Tyler’s Ultimate Banana and Pecan Pancakes - “Tyler’s Ultimate” was recently shown on TV here in the UK. I only saw a couple of episodes - one was on cheesecake, and one on pancakes. These pancakes are the American-style Buttermilk pancakes and I can feel myself gaining weight just looking at the picture…it’s maybe more of a general dessert stack of pancakes than a Pancake Day pancake, but one of these days I will have to make these.

James Martin’s Banana Pancakes with Chocolate and Hazelnut Spread - banana and chocolate is definitely my favourite combination on a pancake. I would probably do this slightly differently, and use a chocolate sauce instead of the spread, and add some crushed hazelnuts.
