I’ll admit it. I was an Office snob. I just didn’t understand why it was that there needed to be an American version “The Office” when the British one got the job done perfectly, as far as I was concerned.

And then I caught the second episode of the second season of The Office - An American Workplace (as it’s called here in the UK). There was a scene where Toby the human resources guy was telling the employees that they should disclose office relationships. Phyllis asked whether that included one night stands, Jim looked up at the camera…and I was hooked.

Anyway we’re still on the second season of the show in the UK, and this is where the internet proves itself to be unbelievably useful because sites like Give Me My Remote and OfficeTally have meant that I can find out an incredible amount of information that I would never be able to find through print coverage in the UK. And I’m grateful for that.

Except today. Today I’m jealous. In a “happy for them and grateful that they’re documenting what happened” kind of way, of course, but jealous nonetheless.
And is it just me, or is anybody else incredibly interested in the details about the writers’ room and processes? I just got really excited reading in GMMR’s report that there are index cards all over the writers’ room!

Anyway, head on over to Give Me My Remote and OfficeTally to read about and see all kinds of great Office-related stuff from their trip to the set.
