While I’m in a “things I’ve bought” kind of mood, I just have to mention Bodymetrics jeans. I first got a pair in…August 2005 I think it was, as a birthday present. I was so pleased with them that I bought another two pairs, and if I was ridiculously rich I think they would be the only jeans I would ever buy.

They’re made-to-measure jeans. I have to admit, I was slightly concerned when I first turned up for my appointment for my first pair of jeans. They stick you in a little cubicle (at least they did when I goy my first pair, things may be different now) and a machine scans your entire body and comes up with a ridiculous number of measurements. Then you get to choose the colour, cut, rise etc of the jeans you want, and in a few weeks, a pair of completely individual jeans (mine even have my name sewn into a tag on the inside) arrive on your front door.

And boy do they fit perfectly. I was worried after all the fuss that you have to go through the it would be a waste of money but I can’t complain about them at all. Without question the best jeans I’ve ever had.

Now, they’re not cheap, obviously, but when I add up how much money I’ve spent over the years on jeans that never quite fit properly, settling for something just to get something, these jeans are definitely worth it. There are all kinds of different jeans available now that weren’t when I went there 18 months ago. I may just have to start saving up for another visit.
