Moo Cards…
I’m sure I’m late to the bandwagon on this one, but I just ordered and received my first batch of Moo Cards
I’m in love with them…
They’re basically the greatest business cards in the world. Small, rectangular, high-quality and despite the size for some reason they feel really substantial. And you can recycle them.
One side features the normal details you would have on a business card (or whatever other text you want to specify - endless scope for amusement) and the other side has a photo. But not just any photo. If you have a Flickr account, it can have a photo you’ve taken on it. Once you’ve chose the photos you want to feature on your card, you can choose which part of the photo you want to use, so it looks even cooler and funkier.
If you don’t have a Flickr account, there’s no need to miss out. There’s an option to make cards from stock photos, which is what I did with this first batch because I wasn’t sure my Flickr photos would really provide me with nice cards. They’re lovely photos, and I’m enjoying the fact that when I hand them out to people they’ll be able to choose which picture they have.
As an added bonus, the company is based in London, which meant that when I got an email from “Little Moo” (seriously, how can you not love a company who sends the most personal automated emails imaginable) letting me know the cards were in the post on Tuesday, I could look forward to expecting a nice package within a day or two. In fact they arrived yesterday (Wednesday) and I couldn’t wait to open them.
I’m trying to think of what else I could use these cards for. I’m sure when I move house I’ll be making up a batch with my new address on and handing them out to friends and family. I just need to think of something more creative to use them for. There’s a great Flickr group where people share photos of what they’ve done with their cards.
Oh yeah…and I suppose I need to find people to give them to. If only I were at SXSW…
