I have a weakness for comedy when it involves music. Something about a funny song just gets to me.

With that in mind, I’m getting really excited for the Flight Of The Conchords TV show finally making its way over to the UK, courtesy of BBC Four, with their HBO One Night Stand kicking things off on September 18th at 9.30pm.

Essentially the show follows the fortunes of New Zealanders Bret and Jemaine as they try to make it big in New York. They have one fan, Mel, and a manager who runs his management company from the offices of the New Zealand consulate in NYC.

I can’t do the show justice myself, but these video clips from HBO give you an idea of what you can expect.

They have an EP out right now (The Distant Future) and I think a full-length album is to follow in the new year on Sup Pop records. Now all I need is for them to go on tour…
